Stephanie Lee,

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Welcome! I am Stephanie Lee, a Bay Area therapist and coach, and I have developed an intersectional coaching method that is specifically designed for professionals who have marginalized identities crossing gender, nationality, race, sexual orientation and/or class. Intersectional Coaching is rooted in social justice and feminist theories, understanding the client as a resilient individual in the context of oppressive and marginalizing systems.

As a licensed psychotherapist, I bring a psychological perspective to coaching, empowering cis and trans women of all sexual orientations through self-awareness and holistic growth. I came into coaching because I believe that investing in one’s personal development should not be limited to those who are suffering mentally. Developing socially and emotionally is something everyone can benefit from. And particularly, if one wants to make large-scale impact and be an influential voice in their field, they must be firmly grounded in their sense of self, their values and beliefs, and their ability to manage personal and professional relationships.  As an Intersectional Coach, I strive to help my clients develop a foundation of strength and independence by exploring questions such as:

  • How does difference complicate my professional and personal relationships?
  • How have I internalized the stereotypes that others have put upon me?
  • How do I allow others to treat me based on my race, gender, cultural background or sexual orientation?
  • What strengths am I not tapping into because society hasn’t recognize them as valuable?
  • How are the values I was raised with different from the values in the neoliberal work sector, and how can I work across these differences?
  • How can I communicate effectively, so that I am heard and respected?
  • How does taking care of others before myself hinder my ability to thrive?

If you are interested in working through these issues in order to find solutions to overcoming the internal and external barriers that are hindering you from moving forward in your career, contact me today to discuss how we can work together in order for you to live and perform at your best.
